Step 1: Width & Height—Every 1/8″ Counts
Start by measuring your mirror’s width (side to side), taking the larger value if top and bottom measurements differ—rounded up to the nearest 1/8″. Then, measure your mirror’s height, including any clips or metal frames at the top or bottom. Accurate measurements ensure your new frame fits seamlessly.
Step 2: Check Surrounding Clearances
Measure the distance between your mirror’s edges and nearby objects—fixtures, walls, backsplash, etc.—on all four sides. If there’s no space, put 0. For gaps larger than ¾”, record ¾+. This step is crucial: around 95% of bathroom walls aren’t perfectly level, so knowing these clearances helps avoid installation issues.
Step 3: Note Any Clips in Place
Identify clips holding the mirror to the wall. Low-profile clips are fine—but thicker ones need attention. Specify clip type, count, and location (top, bottom, left, right). When needed, we provide replacement metal clips that allow placement of your stylish new frame.
Step 4: Look for Bottom Metal Channels
If a metal channel runs across your mirror’s bottom, check whether a nickel can fit between the mirror and channel edge. This determines if we should route the bottom of your frame to ensure proper adhesion.
