We’ve all seen a stock builders bathroom mirror. It’s boring. We wanted to give you three ideas on how to update a bathroom mirror to add some color or style to the design of your bathroom!
These ideas are cost effective, easy to do, and will really make your bathroom stand out!
Without any further ado, let’s get to it!
How to Update A Bathroom Mirror
Bathroom mirrors are traditionally flat with just a few clips holding them to a wall. Functionally, this is great, but ascetically it leaves something to be desired.
Our favorite way to spice up a mirror is to frame it, but we are bias! You can also throw up a medicine cabinet or decorate with a floral arrangement.
1.Add a Mirror Frame
If you haven’t guessed already, we recommend you frame your boring bathroom mirror!
The first step to updating a bathroom mirror is to head to MirrorChic’s shop page and browse around for a frame that you like.
We have a wide range of colors and styles to choose from so you will find something that fits both your taste and your bathroom’s style.
Once you’ve picked out your frame, all you need to do is measure your existing mirror and add those dimensions to your order.
Once you get your frame. You can follow our step by step assembly and installation guide.
Most frames take about an hour to assemble and hang and fall in the price range of $150-$200!
Framing your mirror also has the benefit of not having to remove the original mirror! This can save you hours of headache and the possibility of cleaning up a broken mirror!
2. Install a Medicine Cabinet
This does involve taking down your old bathroom mirror, but a medicine cabinet will add storage and space to your bathroom!
You will want to be careful when selecting a cabinet so it doesn’t hang over your sink too far. At the same time, you want something that is large enough to fill the space that was left by the removal of the mirror.
You can opt for a cabinet that sits in the wall, but this is a much more involved project taht including removing drywall, cutting studs, hanging the cabinet and then repairing any damage to the walls that happened during installation.
This definitely isn’t as easy as a mirror frame, but can add storage space to a bathroom that needs it!
3. Add a Floral Arrangement
Floral arrangments can be hung much like a mirror frame to add a little color to your bathroom.
If you are using fake flowers, you can use double sided tape to attach the décor to the face of the mirror. You won’t get any scents this way, but it will last and you won’t have to redo your work on a weekly basis!
If you want to use real flowers, you can use nails just over the mirror frame and let the flowers and stems hang down. This will require you to replace the flowers as they wilt, but will give you an easy way to update a bathroom mirror on a consistent basis!
However you decide to update a bathroom mirror, we hope you love the process. If you want to talk to us more about framing your mirror, feel free to give us a call or drop us an email!
